According to the CPC, oil loading operations have been suspended following the incident. No employees or contractors were injured or killed, and no oil spill was reported. “On July 19, 2026, during loading operations at the offshore mooring units VPU-1 and VPU-3, two oil tankers — ASIA (carrying oil from Tengizchevroil) and NISSOS IOS (carrying oil from Kashagan B.V. and Maten) — were subjected to a targeted terrorist attack,” CPC said in a statement. The tankers remained afloat, and an assessment of the damage is currently underway. No medical assistance was required for the crew members.
